Jeanette Lafontine
Jeanette Lafontine works with painting and drawing, and explores imaginary landscapes and places through abstraction. These landscapes are the starting point for experimenting with different materials and techniques.
"My process often starts with me doing a series of minor work on paper, while working intuitively on coloring canvases and creating a surface. The final work arises from the composition of elements through an alternation between conscious and intuitive choices. mine is based on landscape, it is not necessarily a motif from a specific place or time, but an attempt to give the viewer an experience that can feel both familiar and foreign at the same time, without there being any specific guidelines for interpretation. "
Jeanette Lafontine graduated from the Oslo Academy of the Arts. After her studies, she was awarded a residency stay at Residency Unlimited in New York, and has had exhibitions both at home and abroad.
